Trouble entering "service" mode by pressing the "enter" key for 5 seconds on this battery. Nothing happens when pressing enter for any amount of time. Want to provision as only battery for new inverter 6000XP. Have update software and cables. For this battery, which would be the correct ports/cables for connecting my laptop? I could just drive out there and have one of your techs do it, but it would be much more efficient to do it here.

Please look at the layout of the face on my battery, it is not anywhere on the EG4 website. I'm not sure what version of the EG4 LL I have. Very confusing.

@dericwright  - you have the Version 1 of the  EG4-LL. Documentation is not on their website.

Search for “BMS Tools Software Tutorial | EG4-LL V1 & V2 Batteries”on YouTube if that would help.

manual link below:

It appears to be a legacy battery:

EG4® LL 48V 100AH Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery

Sometimes not.

To enter service mode press and hold the return key for 5 seconds not the enter key.

@dericwright I am assuming you did but I have to ask. By chance did you make sure to:

1 - Turn off battery breaker before trying to set protocol

2 - Set all DIP switches to the down position

3 - turn off BMS

4 - turn BMS back on

5 - Press and hold Return (Back) for 5 seconds

See image from manual

While following the instructions, holding the return button does nothing.

Are you trying to set the protocol on the battery?

  1. Make you turn off the breaker on the battery
  2. Switch all DIP switches down
  3. Restart the BMS with the power button (Not breaker)
  4. Hold the return button for 5 seconds

Let me if this works of not.
