I'm not sure if everyone can view this video, but Tad Fuller explains that when returning an outdoor unit for an RMA, there’s no need to remove the refrigerant or perform any other steps on the unit. Since the mini split uses quick connects, those connectors prevent any air or moisture from entering the system. Once you receive the replacement unit, you can simply connect the quick connects and cables, and it’ll be ready to go.
