I saw in another older thread about state of charge. I don't know if it is a technical limitation with the EG4 inverter firmware within or a sourcing of firmware update but SOC to me a game changer.

Right now using ECOFLOW Smart Home Panel 2 with their delta pro ultra and battery. Their smart panel app is able to set a reserve of x% to hold in the event the grid power shut off to activate an emergency power of the battery. This seems like would be a no brainer feature for prolonging the life of the battery and having emergency battery.

I mention this as I'm looking to setup a EG4 inverter for another place instead of using Ecoflow.

The "On Grid EOD SOC" setting (EOD = End of Discharge) does what you're describing.  When grid power is connected, it will not discharge the battery below this amount, so if you set it at say 30%, it will always leave 30% in reserve in case grid power is lost.

Sounds like you would need an EG4 Hybrid inverter. You can set the values for SOC for discharge, and you can also set when to charge the batteries from the grid. You can also set Battery backup, which will reserve the battery for when there is a grid outage.
