That's pretty much the whole question, other than what is the update that does a better job of communication to enable EG4 to be selected as the battery type instead of fiddling with lead acid, and how can I download that. I can't find any 6000XP firmware on the EG4 or Signature solar site.

unfortunately, firmware updates require wifi

I am totally with you.... especially for off-grid inverters like the XP series. I do have a number of off-grid clients that are remote, and do not have wifi, or cell coverage. There is literally no way I can see to do a much needed update once it is available at sites that do not have cell coverage.

I am HOPING that there will be some way to download updates to a laptop, and use some available port like maybe even the dongle HDMI port, or bluetooth, to upload from laptop to inverter ?
