Hi Yall from Houston. I have 3 EG4 All Weather batteries with a Sol Ark 15K currently in open loop. I never did anything to firmware. Should I consider updating the firmware on the BMS? anything critical that I should update them?

You don't have to update it, but you can, so the batteries are up to date.

@EG4 Eric is correct... the updates are for communications with EG4 equipment.
