Will the 12000XP ever get UL9540 for ESS RSD when paired with approved batteries?
It seems it's only UL9540A.
As far as I’m aware, this is not something currently in development. So, at this time, I would have to say no.

If the 12000XP is wired as pictured do you have to comply with UL9540? Or does it not need to because it isn't actually grid tied and there is no actual point of interconnection?
You would need to check your local code and utility requirement.

NEC 2023 requires ESS RSD. Even off grid NEC still applies? I'm surprised there is no plan to do this for the 12000xp.
@solar_pergola
It depends, NEC 2023 does require RSD for ESS under certain conditions, primarily for firefighter safety. However, enforcement depends on local AHJ.

It looks like EG4 has decided to do it for the 12000xp according to the SS talk with Eric...are you the same Eric from yesterday?
As of this morning, the EG4 website does not have the 9540 cert on their website. However the listing did just appear this morning on the Intertek product listing website. The entries with formatting "PP-48-280A1-12KXP1-IN-" and "PP-48-280A6-6KXP1-IN-" are new and would appear to be for the 12000xp and 6000xp. Looks like this would be for the 280ah indoor wall battery only.
