I have a grid boss and flexboss21 system that I have found that even if I have grid sell back disabled with off grid disabled in my settings, I still push some power to the grid.
I would like to be able to be able to have the grid enabled as backup without pushing any power.
anyone have a similar experience and suggestions on how I can get there?

The only way to ensure zero power is exported to the grid is to enable Off-Grid Mode. Keep in mind that when Off-Grid Mode is enabled, the inverter will not use the grid to power your backup loads.
If Off-Grid Mode is disabled, the inverter will still prevent intentional power export. However, you may see a very small amount of power flowing to the grid. This is normal and occurs because the inverter continuously sends a minimal amount of power to verify that the grid is present and stable.
