Thanks for all the responses. The issue turned out to be a setting. I had my batteries set to charge at a given time (between 9pm and 8am).
I disconnected the utility and i set my SOC to be 83% to test if the generator would charge the batteries. When the batteries dropped to 83%, the generator would turn on but not charge the batteries because i ran my test during the day and not during the charging time window.
So this seems to be an issue with the Gridboss starting up the generator when the battery SOC hits 83% and i have lost grid, but the Flexboss inverter would not allow the batteries to charge because of the time of day i set for charging. I got around this issue by not having any time limits on when i could charge. When i set this, the generator did charge the batteries.
This seems like a logic issue between the flexboss and the gridboss because if i have a power outage during the day and my batteries go below a set SOC, they will not charge until after 9pm which by then my batteries might be completely discharged. Other than manually changing the setting when i loose Utility i am not sure what type of firmware update might fix this (if this is truly and issue)
