Hello, I just went to check the system for a neighbor who is not home (system: one XP6000 inverter, one 280Ah battery and 8 solar panels)

The inverter was flashing a #17. I checked the battery connections and there is 0 volts… the battery is about 3 months old…. The house was not even being used and there was practically no load on the system. I tried rebooting twice  all but nothing changed. Anybody has an idea? Thanks!

Is the battery dead or does the LCD screen still turn on?

No display, no noise, no voltage at the terminals. I am going back there tomorrow to double check  and swap the battery com cable with a new one but i am not sure what else i can do.

well…. The wall mount all weather battery still shows no sign of life after swapping the com cable with a new one. The battery is only a couple of months old and i have received no possible fix from neither Signature Solar who sold the equipment or from EG4 electronics… What can i do now?

How long was the battery in standby? It’s possible the battery was maintaining the inverter on and gradually discharged over time.

Have you tried charging the battery at a very low amperage?

If you have a 48V battery charger or a Chargeverter (If you have one already), to recharge the battery at a low current (around 1A–5A).

If you dont have a charger, connect another 48vdc battery to it.  the bats dead and bms isnt getting enough power to turn on.  if you can get BMS to fire up you can then charge the battery normally.  Ive had to do this with many lithium batteries when they run down fully, solar, flashlights, car lithium batteries.  The bms manufacturers need to include button batteries on theyre circuit boards to run when the bats are dead.
