I have 3 6000XPs in parallel and I have noticed that when I have low wattage output on one of them that its fans do not run and the temperature readings rise above 100F. It is usually when the inverter is outputting less than 200W and at night.  I do not have PV hooked up yet and they are running totally off of battery.  I keep the batteries charged with 2 chargeverters and the room they are in is air conditioned to 72 degrees F.

Is it normal for 6000XP fans to not run at low wattage outputs?

The fans will activate when the charging or discharging power exceeds 300W.

Where are you seeing that the inverter is reaching 100°F?

I am seeing it both on the EG4 Monitoring (43.4 C) site as well as my Solar Assistant instance and on multiple inverters. Here is an excel with data from 12 hours last night with watts and temperature for each of my three inverters. From the 12 hours of data, it appears the threshold is more like 200 watts

let me know if you need additional information and if the fans not running at low wattage and temps high is going to be a continuing issue or cause damage.

Thank you

@mikeenea
Are you getting any alarms?
Any faults or warnings on the inverters?

No Sir -- No alarms faults or warnings of any kind.

Working just fine -- temperature variations are just causing concern.

I know that third-party apps don’t always provide fully accurate information. However, if you're seeing this directly through the EG4 monitoring website, it might be worth looking into. If you’re not receiving any warnings or alarms, it should be fine for now.

Are you able to share a screenshot of where you are seeing this in the EG4 monitor website?

@eg4eric here are 2 screen shots of the same time period of probably the worst temperatures as you can see the tradiators are in the High 50 and mid 60 degree Celsius with the tinner at a cool 32 degrees C and the pdischarge watts are all less than 200.

I appreciate your skepticism of Solar Assistant data, but it only reports what the inverter is sending it -- no manipulation, it only does it in 10 second increments (instead of every 4 -5 mins) and reports all three of the temperature sensors unfortunately it only graphs the highest temperature.

Thanks

Mike E.
