Our first install of a Flexboss21 w/ a Gridboss doing whole home backup ( 200A main panel ).  After updating the firmware, before connecting the Flexboss and the Gridboss together with the parallel comms cables.  I was comissioning the system and found that the ESS switch for the Gridboss doesn't do anything.  Anybody run into this one? am I missing a setting?

Thanks for any assistance.

Did you connect the the two wires for the rapid shutdown from the inverter terminals (the one that has the jumper cable on it) to the two terminals in the Gridboss. The switch wont shutdown the inverter if it's not connected with these two wires.

@offgriddd

I did not connect those.  There's not a jumper in the gridboss.    I'll connect the flexboss ess in series with the gridboss.  So the gridboss ess doesn't work unless it has the flexboss to go by?

@simply-efficient thats my understanding, the switch on the gridboss needs to be directly connected to the RSD port on the flexboss for it to work...there is a page about it in the manual

Do you have you have your system set up already?
When you turn the switch do your loads turn off?

Yes, system is running, I updated each unit, then connected the comms cables between the gridboss and flexboss.  Tested the ess switch connected to the flexboss, all good.  Tested the ess on the gridboss, nothing happens....
